"Mixed Media ATC's"

Discover the magic of creating small but powerful works of art in this playful mixed media class focused on Artist Trading Cards (ATCs). These miniature artworks—just 2.5 x 3.5 inches—are the perfect space to explore creativity, experiment with materials, and express your unique artistic voice.

In these classes, you’ll layer a variety of materials to create a series of richly textured cards. Each card becomes a tiny canvas for storytelling, symbolism, and creative exploration.

You’ll learn techniques for building depth and interest in a small format while allowing intuition and curiosity to guide the process. By the end of the session, you’ll have a collection of one-of-a-kind cards that can be kept, gifted, or traded with other artists—spreading creativity far beyond the studio.

Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, this class invites you to play, experiment, and discover how much magic can live inside something small.

"Awe and Authenticity"

Create a mixed media series on wood panels, layered with original papers, dyed fabric, natural elements and ephemera of your choice. You will create original papers to build collage layers that support natural elements such as twigs, bark, stones, feathers, shells and metal. You will explore how fabric and fibres find their place amongst these collaged pieces.
You will be encouraged to work intuitively throughout this class as you connect with your inner self and with your materials. You will be encouraged to approach your work with curiosity, exploration and a sense of awe and wonder. Create at your own level and use your own creativity while being gently guided to truly make these pieces unique and authentically yours.

"Mixed Media Tags"
Wednesday, May 13 6:00-9:00pm

Explore creativity in a playful and expressive way as you transform simple tags into beautiful mixed media works of art. In this class, you’ll experiment with layering a variety of materials to create richly textured and visually striking art tags.

These small surfaces offer the perfect opportunity to loosen up, try new techniques, and follow your intuition without the pressure of a large project. Each tag can become a tiny story, a meaningful symbol, or a spontaneous moment of artistic discovery. The theme of Creativity will specifically be explored.

You’ll learn how to build depth through layers, combine materials, and add personal touches such as words, imagery, and embellishments. By the end of the class, you’ll have a collection of unique tags that can be used as bookmarks, journal inserts, gifts, or decorative keepsakes.

"For the Love of Botanicals"

Explore the beautiful and rewarding world of botanicals as you discover a variety of techniques in preserving and showcasing flowers and plants. Your creative work will be treasured in an original art journal you create and will be filled with explorations of sketching, herbariums, stencilling, art journaling, self expression, poetry, hand stitching, painting, stamping and collaging.
You will be able to make this truly your own no matter what level you are at, creating a beautifully organic treasure to take home.

"Spooled Stories"
Thursday, August 6 6:00-9:00 pm

In this unique mixed media class, you will create a personal story told through layered paper, fabric, and hand stitching, all wrapped around a beautifully, handmade wooden spool (3" tall). Like thread winding around a bobbin, your memories, symbols, textures, and words will slowly gather to form a visual narrative.
Using a combination of your own designed papers, beautiful fabrics, and simple stitching techniques, you’ll build a long strip of mixed media that represents moments, emotions, or themes from your life. Marks, imagery, fragments of text, and symbolic materials can all become part of the story you weave.
​
As your piece grows, it will be gently wrapped around the wooden spool—transforming your artwork into a tactile object that can be unwound and revisited, revealing your story layer by layer.
​
This class is both a creative exploration and a reflective process, inviting you to slow down, work with your hands, and honor the threads that make up your journey.
No advanced sewing experience is needed—just a willingness to explore, layer, stitch, and tell your story through art.
All materials are provided, including two wooden spools.
