Mixed Media Exploration Class-2.jpeg
Be prepared for a ton of fun and exploration as you will create a mixed media piece using a variety of materials. Each session of "Mixed Media Exploration" will include materials using acrylic inks, acrylic paints, pastels, pencils, paper, and mark making tools. Each session will vary in terms of what other mixed media supplies you will use.  These could include botanicals, metal, fabric, lace, leather, clay or beads.

In creating a mixed media piece, many layers of paint, paper and ephemera are required.  We almost always start with layers of paper, paint, ink and crayons/pastels and build more layers on top of our intial layers.  We use a variety of supplies such as brayers, mono printing plates, stencils, and natural tools as we focusing on creating texture, line, pattern, shape, value or colour.

You will explore a variety of materials and elements of art. At the end of the session, you will have a piece of art to take home! Your piece made be made on substrates of watercolour paper or wood, depending on what we're making.

You are enouraged to come with a spirit of trying new things, taking risks, and pushing yourself into expansion.  All levels are welcome and encouraged as learning is open ended, allowing you to make your piece truly  your own, using unlike anyone else's. Your creativity is unique to you and we want to make sure to celebrate and explore that!
